About

Danielle Goetz (formerly Calodney) is a director based in Austin, Texas, known for turning mayhem into comedy gold. Hailing from the suburbs of North Texas, Danielle's early diet of Nickelodeon shows, Kurt Vonnegut novels, and the chaos of her large blended family nurtured her unique talent for finding humor and absurdity in the most commonplace settings.

A proud graduate of the University of Texas, Austin's prestigious film program, Danielle first took a detour through New York City. Starting as a documentary DP, Danielle captured stories worldwide for nonprofits such as The Nobel Peace Prize Committee and brands like Capital One and American Airlines. As well, she cut her teeth for many years in NYC shooting docs and editorial campaigns for magazines like Rolling Stone, Billboard, Pitchfork, Complex, and The Hollywood Reporter.

With a background in improv (she’s been making people laugh since middle school), Danielle quickly realized her superpower: getting the best performances out of actors, no matter how complicated the tone or project. And that’s when things got serious. She dove into directing commercials, blending relatable humor with eye-catching art direction (her earliest career aspirations were in interior design) and sharp storytelling to create films that you can’t help but remember.

Now, having hung up her DP hat (for now), Danielle's built a powerhouse body of work in short-form comedy for social-first and TV. She’s a director who’s got heart, hustle, and an innate ability to make complex work look deceptively simple.
